Sankar Kumar Pal
Sankar Kumar Pal is known as a National Science Chair, a distinguished Scientist, and a former Director from Indian Statistical Institute. He was honored with one of India’s highest civilian awards, Padma Shri in Science and Engineering 2013 for machine intelligence, Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award 1990, and many more as well as multiple academic honors such as Fellow, Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association, etc. He has extensive research interests in pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms, web intelligence, data mining, granular computing, and so on. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has established its Intensification of Research in High Priority Areas (IRHPA) under the leadership of Sankar Kumar Pal. Being one of the AI researchers in India, he is also the founder President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering in Kolkata. Krothapalli Sreenivasa Rao
Krothapalli Sreenivasa Rao is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He is known for his work on signal processing and machine learning algorithm aspects that is targeted to speech applications for 18 years. He has helped to develop multiple speech systems in different Indian languages through collaboration with the Government of India and other eminent Indian technological institutes. His specialization is in expressive speech analysis, development of robust speech systems, vocal folds activity analysis and synthesis with speech and biomedical applications, as well as the development of appropriate signal processing methods to extract the characteristic features from Hindustani music. His current focus is on the development of speech interfaces to target E-governance, digital India, and smartphones as well as exploring big data analytics for speech, music, audio, and video document representation and retrieval tasks. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay
Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay is currently a Professor in Machine Intelligence Unit at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. She has worked in multiple reputed universities across the world such as Australia, Germany, France, Mexico, and many more. She has been recognized for her research papers and was awarded the Bhatnagar prize, Infosys award, JC Bose Fellowship, and many more prestigious awards and fellowships.
